Kinect debuts for Xbox 360
Kinect is transforming entertainment with the debut of Kinect for Xbox 360 by revolutionizing our gaming experience.
Kinect for Xbox 360 is unlike any other gaming device available today. It allows you to use your voice and body to activate and play your favorite games, music and other entertainment. To activate all you have to do is simply stand in front of the Kinect sensor as it reads your movements, hears your voice and learns your playing style.
I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of what is now Kinect since its project Natal days and have seen how it transformed into this well-designed, elegant device. Active and engaging, Kinect lets the entire family have fun together from games to music to movies, Kinect transforms your entertainment area into a playground getting you off the couch and making you one with the game.
Seventeen Kinect games will be readily available for the 2010 holiday season in the dance, fitness, sports, racing and family categories.
My favorites so far include:
- Kinectimals - my son was blown away. He was amazed at how he could interact and play with the animals
- Dance Central - loved being able to set it to workout mode and just dance
- Kinect Sports - love being able to kick butt and take names
- Your Shape Fitness Evolved - best workout game that I've used to date
- Sonic Free Riders - Sonic hands free = awesome!
Wondering what's in store for the more than 25 million Xbox LIVE members?
Now Xbox LIVE members can share your experiences with family and friends over Xbox LIVE through Video Kinect (either from couch to couch or via Windows Live Messenger) as well as control music, movies and (my personal favorite) live sports from ESPN on Xbox LIVE with either the sound of their voice or wave of a hand.
The device alone is priced at $149.99 (U.S) and includes the Kinect sensor and “Kinect Adventures,” and works with the 45 million Xbox 360 consoles currently in homes globally.
For those who do not currently own an Xbox 360, there is an all-in-one Xbox 360 4GB Console with Kinect includes the new Xbox 360 4GB console, Kinect sensor and “Kinect Adventures,” priced at $299.99 (U.S.).
