3 Ways to Make a Working Vacation Work
It is no secret, Americans are workaholics.
Now that the kiddos are out of school, vacation season has begun!
And the need to get some much-needed rest and relaxation can be difficult especially while you are the CEO, CIO, and CFO of your business.
But don’t worry, with some planning, and foresight (thesaurus), you and your family can enjoy a relaxing vacation and keep your business running while you're the out of office sign is up.
Plan ahead. Know how much time you will be dedicated to your work while you’re away and stick to it. Inform family members and clients about your schedule so there are no conflicts.
Be prepared. Don’t go on a working vacation if you do not have the necessary tools and gadgets. Laptop, smartphone, chargers should all be ready for you to get your work done uninterrupted.
Leave it behind when the timer goes off. When the closing bell rings, close the devices and be prepared to enjoy your vacation. Your family will love that you are present and enjoying a much needed time off.
At the end of the day, it is crucial to find a work-life balance that works for you. And combining some down time with work may be what works for you, but keep in mind not to jeopardize those precious moments with family over the presumed need to always be connected and always needing to check-in.
