It is with great pleasure that I announce to you all that I have been selected as an Ambassador for Latina Smart, a program recently launched by Kmart to encourage young Latinas to pursue higher education by providing financial support through scholarship fund (which is awarding $25,000) via their social media channels.
What does this all mean?
Simple, if you know a graduating high school senior and/or student currently enrolled in college, technical or trade schools this opportunity would be perfect for them.
With education being such a passionate topic within the Latino community, Kmart through the Latina Smart Fund aims to further engage, encourage and empower the by creating a scholarship fund aimed for young women to pursue their dreams and accomplish their goals
Here’s the deal:
From now through October 31st, eligible candidates are able to apply for the Latina Smart Fund scholarship one of two ways.
- Submit a 750-1000 word essay or
- Upload a two-minute video of themselves answering a relevant question to Latina Smart’s Facebook page.
The top 50 contestants or most “liked” entries will be … by the Latina Smart Ambassadors (Blogueras) based on originality, style, and enthusiasm. The top 20 will then advance to the final round where a panel of experts in the areas of business and education will choose one $10,000 scholarship recipient and three $5,000 runner-up awards.
