#SteamTeam: A New Year of Continued Family Adventures

A new year often means a fresh start, new goals, and aspirations. But for my family and me, this new year is about continuing our legacy and the adventures we have embarked as a family.

In 2015, we experienced our fair share of tough times. The agony of road tripping with a toddler in full terrible-two mode and the heartache of seeing a smart little boy lose a bit of that sparkle in his eye due to a learning disability which he doesn't fully understand yet.

But despite those trying times, we had plenty of love, joy, and laughter to overcome them.

Learning to see and experience life through the eyes of my boys has allowed me to let go of the daily stress, let my hair down and just laugh. That and being able to take some time our for myself to decompress and binge-watch documentaries and my favorite shows helps as well (and is why I am anxiously awaiting what's in store for House of Cards, Daredevil, and Luke Cage).

Life with kids is always an adventure. Whether it's jumping puddles in the rain or putting on lab coats to conduct science experiments in the kitchen, through my boys, I have learned that today is the most important day of our lives. And living in the moment without interruptions is what works for us and is our 2016 mantra.

We are looking forward to what the next eleven months has in store. We will take in and cherish each moment as they come especially those we create during our Friday family movie night tradition. We supply the snacks while seeing the boys live vicariously through characters on their latest obsession; The Croods.
