“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” - John Bunyan
As I read about the devastating earthquakes that have impacted Ecuador and Japan over the last few days, my immediate thought was of how my family and I could help those affected. As I searched online for ways to donate, I found some significant efforts being led by Verizon to help those affected by these horrific events.
Showing compassion to help others, especially in a time of need, is just one of many ways humanity survives. And I am showing my children that compassion, and lifting others is a necessity in life.
So if you are a Verizon customer, here are some ways the company is helping those affected:
- Verizon is offering free wireless and wireline calling from the U.S. to Ecuador and Japan to connect with family and friends.
- Verizon Wireless customers who want to help with relief efforts (via UNICEF) can donate via text the word RELIEF to 864233 and $10 will be added to your Verizon Wireless bill upon confirmation with your billing zip code.
- If you would like to support Global Giving’s relief efforts in Japan, text the word JAPAN to 80100 and $10 will be added to your Verizon Wireless bill once your billing zip code is confirmed.
